Dunmore to Harrington: Colonel [John] Stewart has been appointed to conduct the Hessians to Scotland. The troops have marched or are about to march for Willemstad, but he has not heard of any transports arriving. Advices from his agents at Dinant, Ghent etc. Estimate of the tonnage required to embark the cavalry, Hessian horses [SP 87/20/5], artillery etc. Expense of sustenance of troops detained by contrary winds. Surplus of rations and forage. He encloses a state of the hospital staff gone or to go to England [SP 87/20/3] and those to be left behind [SP 87/20/4]. Dated at Antwerp. ff. 1, 2 |
