J. Laws to Adam Cardonnel: Lord Orrery has directed him to send the enclosed 'consults'[SP 87/6/114] of the council of finance [of the Spanish Netherlands] containing their refusal to contribute to the upkeep of the regiment of Hussars. Orrery intends to await the arrival of Van den Bergh so that they can deal with the council together. He encloses a petition from Vicomte Hombeck to have a few soldiers at Mechelen, and believes that Orrery supports it. Dated at Brussels. ff. 240, 241 |
