Description: |
States general of the united provinces of the Netherlands to Marlborough: their deputies have sent them three contracts relating to provisions for imperial and Palatine troops. They have noticed that these were not signed by Lord Orrery, and that they are based on funds which do not exist. These troops have not come into the low countries solely in the Dutch interest, but for the common cause. The funds which should have been raised from customs revenues on Ghent, Bruges and Ostend are lacking, and further delay in the matter would be dangerous. Dated at The Hague. ff. 99, 100 |
