Description: |
Marlborough [to Boyle]: the states [general] are alarmed at the large number of forces the French are bringing into the low countries, some from Spain. When he was at The Hague the states were treating with the duke of Württemburg for more troops. They wish to be assured that the seven English battalions now at Antwerp will serve in the next campaign, and he encloses a letter [SP 87/3/144] from them on that subject. Dated in Brussels. ff. 288, 289 |
