Marlborough to Boyle: the enemy have extended their camp from Tournai almost to Oudenaarde and sent Count de la Motte towards Brussels. Major General Murray has since arrived from Flanders with four battalions and six squadrons of German cavalry have arrived from Germany, so la Motte has retired towards Ghent. He asks for la Motte's letter [SP 87/3/89] to be shown to the queen. Dated at camp at Lannoy. ff. 183, 184 |
