Marlborough to Boyle: Count Sinzendorff has written that the court at Vienna has decided to give the investiture of the upper Palatinate to the elector Palatine. Major General Palmes has been so successful in his negotiations that the duke of Savoy can have no cause for complaint. The emperor [Joseph I] has accepted the proposal for replacing the 4,000 infantry for Catalonia. Deserters are coming over from the French. Dated at camp at St Renalde. ff. 71,72 |
