Description: |
Adam Cardonnel to M. Puech [the French commissary]: he has communicated the contents of Puech's letter [SP 87/2/311] to Marlborough, who has sympathy for the prisoners of both sides. However, because of the scale of the proposal, he will have to write to England, the court at Vienna and Italy, which he will do immediately. Marlborough has instructions to write to the French court to demand the return to England of those French officers whose permits of leave have expired. Dated at camp at Meldert. f. 644 |
