Description: |
Marlborough to the elector of Mainz: it is not because of him that the Saxon troops have not been sent to the Rhine. He advises him and the elector Palatine immediately to draw up a detailed plan with the shortest route to Philippsburg, when the troops should be there, and who should command the corps he envisages. He cannot present the proposals to England and the Netherlands without a solid plan. The elector must also take measures in advance for embarking the troops on the Rhine should they be recalled to the low countries. Dated at camp at Meldert. ff. 620, 621 |
