Description: |
Marlborough to Harley: a reconnaissance has revealed that the French have marched to the plains of Fleurus. In the case of the allies besieging a fortress such as Mons, the French might ravage Brabant before the heavy artillery could come up. Having secured the great towns, the army will march next day to the Dyle and hope to give battle. Two more successful cavalry skirmishes. The German troops on the Rhine have allowed the French to cross and have been dispersed. Dated at camp at Beaulieu. ff 599, 600 |
