William Blathwayt [to the under secretary of state]: assault on Namur is imminent. He awaits a further account of Lord Pagett's proceedings in Turkey. The 'business of St Malo' and the surrender of Diksmuide, the garrison of which has been taken to Ypres. Lord Berkely is at Dunkirk. The prince of Vaudemont has reclaimed the private soldiers, but not the officers, who are thought unworthy. Major General Ellenberger, who commanded at Diksmuide, is considered suspect. Dated before Namur. ff. 59, 60
