These papers were assembled by R H Lovell whilst a project manager for wind tunnel development at the Ministry of Public Building and Works and the Property Services Agency.

In addition to material on the Royal Aircraft Establishment wind tunnels at Bedford and Farnborough the series includes technical reports on work elsewhere and papers on the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment blow tunnel at Boscombe Down.

Administrative / biographical background:

Between January 1966 and June 1970 R H Lovell was at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Bedford, working on high and low speed tunnels there. In June 1970 he moved to the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough, as project manager for the new wind tunnel complex and later for new wind tunnels. He became Head of Facilities Engineering at the Atomic Warfare Research Establishment, Aldermaston in August 1980.
