Horticulture Research International was tasked with carrying out horticultural research and development and transferring the results to industry in England. Horticulture Research International was constituted in May 1990 from the Agricultural and Food Research Council Institute of Horticultural Research Stations at Wellsbourne, East Malling, Littlehampton, Hop Unit (Wye College) and ADAS Experimental Stations at MAFF Efford, Kirton and Stockbridge House. Warwick HRI was formed on 1 April 2004 with functions, property and staff transferred to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. |
