| Custodial history: | Passed from the War Office to the Colonial Office before transfer to the Public Record Office in 1933. |
| Selection and destruction information: | Records extensively weeded before transfer to the Public Record Office. Originally transferred as WO 39, the series was reviewed in March 1961 under s. 6 of the Public Records Act 1958. This authorised the further destruction of valueless material in the series. The few remaining records were transferred to this series. |
