Administrative / biographical background:

The Partnership for Action Against Wildlife Crime is a multi-agency body comprising representatives of all the organisations involved in wildlife law enforcement in the UK. It provides opportunities for statutory and non-Government organisations to work together to combat wildlife crime. Its main objective is to promote the enforcement of wildlife conservation legislation, particularly through supporting the networks of Police Wildlife Liaison Officers and Customs Wildlife and Endangered Species Officers. The Partnership's activities are co-ordinated by a Steering Group which meets twice a year and is jointly chaired by the head of Defra’s Wildlife Species Conservation Division, and the Wildlife Advisor to the Association of Chief Police Officers.
