Incorporated by act of 14th June 1860. Under this Act Newport, Abergavenny and Hereford, and Worcester and Hereford railway companies were absolutely merged and vested in Oxford Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway Company, united undertaking to be called West Midland Railway Company. Under Great Western Railway (West Midland Amalgamation) Act 13th July 1863, West Midland Railway Company was dissolved and vested in Great Western Railway Company.
