The Centralised Licensing and Administration Division was established in 1969 and was set up to administer the transfer of road vehicle registration and licensing from local to central government. It ceased to exist in 1972 when its functions were transferred to the newly established Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre (DVLC). |
