Date: 1976-1991
History: In 1976, the Signals Research and Development Establishment (SRDE) was merged with the Royal Radar Establishment to become the Royal Signals and Radar Establishment (RSRE), with responsibilities for research and development in electronics, communications, radar, optical, infra-red and related equipment for the armed services and for civil applications. In 1991 the RSRE became part of the Defence Research Agency (DRA).
