The Royal Voluntary Service Heritage Collection is one of the largest charity archives in the country. It charts over 80 years of history of the largest volunteering organisation in British history through over 2 million documents, c.20,000 photographs and thousands of items of uniform and other objects.
Research: The WRVS Archive & Heritage Collection offers a free remote enquiry service which will undertake up to 1 hour of work on behalf of enquirers. Further research is able to be undertaken as part of a Research service for which a charge is made. Photocopies of material in the collecton are available on request for non commercial research and private study purposes. Their online catalogue to selected parts of the collection, principally the WVS/WRVS Narrative reports (1938-1945), WVS Bulletin (1939-1974), their photographic collection (1938-c1990) and a selection of posters (1938-2008) is accessible via their website
